Annie studied at Goldsmith's College and The London College of Printing, gaining a degree in Graphic Design. She began her career working as Picture Editor on The British Journal of Photography where her lifelong love of photography was nurtured. Whilst raising her young family she continued to work intermittently as a photographic picture editor for national agencies as well as writing and illustrating several children's books, one of which was shortlisted for the Smarties prize. Annie now works with her husband in their Graphic and Website Design business.
Annie loves to travel, whether locally in the UK or elsewhere in the world, Her passion for the photographic image remains and she has accumulated a large body of photographic work, particularly in Asia and the Indian subcontinent. She is currently preparing for two exhibitions this autumn on India so most of her imagery at the moment reflects that. Her following exhibition in 2009 will be images about South East Asia and Borneo.
Annie is proud to have recently joined the Sudbourne Printmakers group where she wants to extend her her artistic portfolio to include work that involves a more tactile and interpretive approach. She is thoroughly enjoying 'making marks' whilst exploring and improving her technical printing skills. Annie feels that, for her, the medium used to make the image is secondary to its visual impact and she likes to mix media in order to achieve the effect she wants to convey.
Annie has recently exhibited in solo exhibitions at the Spiral Gallery and the Fisher Theatre Gallery. She has contributed to the Sudbourne Park Printmakers exhibitions at the Peter Pears Gallery and Bothy Yard. She has forthcoming exhibitions in autumn 2008 at the Bharatya Vidya Bhawan Gallery in West London and the Northhouse Gallery in Manningtree as well as a return to the Fisher Theatre Gallery, Bungay, in 2009.
