Chinwe exhibits widely and her work varies from portraiture, which includes the portrait of HM the Queen, to images which capture the landscape and cultures of African people. Her work is in private and public collections worldwide. She was awarded an honorary Doctorate by the University of East Anglia in 2002.
A biography of her, 'Chinwe Roy' published by Tamarind books, is now part of the schools curriculum for 9-12 year olds. Chinwe addressed the European Council Committee Colloquy on African arts and artists. She has a residency at the Sainsbury Centre followed by a touring exhibition in South Africa with South Africa's 'Struggle Artists' this October.
